Private Lessons
My teaching philosophy is pretty simple. If you don’t enjoy playing the instrument, then you will stop playing it - and that is a failure on my part as your teacher.
It doesn’t matter if you know all the modes of all the scales if you quit playing! So, first and foremost, we focus on moving in a direction that will get you where you want to go with the guitar.
I have extensive experience teaching both young and adult students of all experience levels, beginner to audition prep, to professionals that want to take their playing to the next level.
Having studied Classical and Jazz Guitar Performance at university, and being an in-demand player on the Indianapolis jazz and theater scene, I can confidently say that I have both the technical knowledge and applied skills to help get you where you want to go with the guitar.
While there are a few skills that absolutely every guitar player should know, I go about teaching each student differently to best fit their way of digesting the information.

Here are two short videos of what a typical lesson may look like. Keep in mind, I teach to the student, not to the material. So while we may cover the same subjects, I tailor my approach to each lesson to each student.
